Truth In Advertising?
In the March 2, 1995 edition of The Charlotte Observer, a sporting goods store called The Sports Authority ran an ad advertising their "End Of Season Ski Clearance!".One of the items in the ad was the Rossignol R77 Ski Boot, with the ad copy saying "You'll ski like a faggot with these!"
Apparently someone laying out the ad needed something to fill space until the real ad copy was available, and then forgot to remove it when the final version was sent to the newspaper. How does a faggot ski, anyway? I'm not so sure that I'd want to ski that way! Anyway, the local radio DJs had a ball with this one.
